Onimusha Way of the Sword Demo

The Onimusha: Way of the Sword demo is free on every platform, and it was quietly expanded in August 2026 with a whole second task, a new boss and new mechanics. This page covers where to get it, exactly what’s in it, whether your save carries over, and how to find its hidden secret boss.

Where to Download the Demo

The demo is free and supports 9 voice-over languages including English and Japanese, with more text languages. The PS5 version is PS5 Pro Enhanced and uses the DualSense haptics and 3D audio.

What the Demo Contains

The original demo (June 2, 2026) covered the Kiyomizu-dera temple section and the Sasaki Ganryu boss fight. The expanded demo (late August 2026, announced around gamescom) added:

• A second playable task in the surreal Oni Refuge area with early story content
• The Daidara boss fight
• New Genma enemies: Ifuu and Burai (the wind-and-lightning duo)
• New mechanics, including Oni Bow puzzle sections

Demo Save & the Kubi Akari Bonus

Demo progress does not carry into the full game — but keeping your demo save on the same console/account unlocks a bonus equipable charm in the full game: Charm: Kubi Akari. The PlayStation Store listing confirms the bonus; claim it from the storehouse in the full game.

The Hidden Secret Boss

The expanded demo hides a secret extreme-level boss fight — Hyakue (百秽), a "Special Sparring" battle that Capcom never announced. It was discovered by players, and it is currently one of the least-documented secrets of the game.
